A total change of scenery — switching hemispheres, yet still on the same earth. This time: Australia. 🌏

I’ve travelled a lot, but somehow never made it here when I was younger. Back then, hotels weren’t quite ready to tackle the visa maze, and so the dream stayed tucked away — somewhere between curiosity and possibility. Years later, with age, a little patience, and family ties (my step-daughter lived there), I finally went. What followed was a journey of beauty, questions, and humility — a reminder of how vast and fragile our planet truly is.

Please swipe slowly — it’s worth it.

Paris – always alive, always moving, always whispering „joie de vivre“. People smile, they look at each other – beauty is everywhere. This time I was in Paris “on business” – what a privilege to explore a potential hotel project and to join a wonderful gathering of inspiring women for the book launch of THE GUIDE (a must read) and to meet Dee and Dayenne from andbloom.

I returned full of good vibes – and here comes my personal Top 7. Maybe you’ll find a little gem for your next Paris trip. Because yes, no matter how everyday life feels – 48 hours in Paris beat any hormone shot (and are far more natural!).

À très bientôt,

More than any other meal — breakfast is about feelings.
It’s not just about what’s on your plate.
It’s about how you feel the moment you sit down.
Safe. Welcomed. Cared for.

Once again, it’s been such a joy to create this little reel for you. Honestly, I’m always a bit shocked when people measure hotel quality by the size of the buffet alone (#foodwaste #fastfood — not really my thing).

Maybe this inspired you to create a beautiful breakfast for someone you love at home.
Because yes — breakfast is pure love.
It’s about feelings. And details.

In today’s Stories, I’m showing the hotel that captured this spirit best:
Le Meurice, Paris.

Where have you had your most memorable breakfast — and why?

Now I have to head downstairs… the smell of freshly ground coffee is calling.
Wishing you a gentle and delicious start into the day.

I had so much fun putting this post together — truly!
And yet, I can already hear the voices in the background 😅
“Hospitality? No way. Long hours. No appreciation. Poor pay…”

Yes, I hear you. And yet…

This can still be one of the most rewarding, vibrant and joy-filled careers —
If you know your craft.
If you love creating joy for others.
If you understand: We are service people — now more than ever.

And guess what?
Guests notice.
More and more are grateful when they meet someone who cares — in any industry. Sure – you have to be tough to get paid fairly and correctly – and also – VERY CLEAR & reliable in your communicaition – 365 day a year (including „les jours fériés“).

And honestly?
There’s no other job that comes with this kind of VIP status + smile mileage —
all around the world 🌍😉Not everyone needs more school after graduating. Some of us just need life. And in hospitality, that life starts on day one. You learn, earn, grow — and truly show up as yourself. It’s a energy loaded time – and useful for every next step you might consider for your career.

I started with training too. Then I went to management school.
Wouldn’t change a thing.

A plate at Bacon in Antibes – so lovingly presented that it belongs in a museum.
Why isn’t there a museum of the most beautiful plates in the world yet?

🎨 “One should offer the body something good so that the soul has a desire to live in it” said Winston Churchill so aptly at the time. So be sure to save this post for the next moment you give yourself. Because good food makes you happy. And often even more than beautiful clothes or beauty treatments.

This was episode 1 of the new series „88 favorite places“. If you’d like more – write PLACES in the comments and you’ll soon receive the first newsletter. Bon appetit 🙂

A is for Arrival.
Not just in a hotel – but in a feeling.

The scent of jasmine.
Cool marble beneath your steps.
A soft “Welcome” that quiets the noise of the world.
Because in true hôtellerie, elegance begins the moment you enter.

This is the beginning of my new series:
The ABC of Hôtellerie – Slow Moments, Grand Feelings.
And it starts here: with presence, softness, arrival.
How do you want to arrive – in a space, in a day, in your life?
Tell me below. ✨

PS: But what if A also stood for something else? A for Apprenticeship. Ausbildung. A fresh start. A path into the world of hotels, design, or hospitality – for anyone dreaming of a new beginning. Interested ?
