HAPPY PEOPLE DO 4 THINGS

Tonight at the Bar Talk, it’s about to get loud. Beyoncé might stop by — and we’re not sure who she’s bringing.

She once said that “her work is a source of confidence and personal power.”
And honestly? I feel the same.
I wouldn’t be who I am today without the people I’ve met — and let’s be clear:
Most of them, I met them… through or related to work.

Work is a relative word. It can mean many things.
But at its core, it simply means: you have a purpose.

If you’re in the service world, you know the feeling: “I helped someone today. I made someone smile.”
That alone can be deeply fulfilling.

Among young people, I often hear: “I need a break after school — definitely not ready to work yet.”
And yes, rest is important. But months of colourful travel? Does it really refill your soul?
Or does it eventually create a feeling of being… unneeded?

That’s what Beyoncé means — and I would even go a bit further:
What makes us truly happy — assuming our health is okay?

Spending time with loved ones
Practicing gratitude
Taking our work seriously — because it brings meaning, service, and contribution.

Do I listen @53? I pretend not to. Do I feel like wearing it today? Oh yes.

Will someone say, “Her upper arms aren’t firm enough for that dress”?
“Her belly shows”? Probably. And you know what? Yes — I still feel it.
But also: I love this dress. Right here, right now. And I feel this kind of energy that is stornger than an lot of beauty propaganda.

Will I bring a matching pashmina?
Maybe.
Will I stand tall when someone takes a photo?
You bet.
Will I look terrific?
Yes. I. Will.

For what we wear – inside and out.

ORIENTAL VIBES

We’re planning a trip to Dubai. Sounds impressive, doesn’t it? Luxury, skyscrapers and stories from 1001 nights ✨📖.

Fragrances, great food and no, apparently no wine. And it gets even better: I know someone there who in turn knows everyone and will see him again – let’s see if we recognize each other. This will also be a reunion with my 30-year-old career-oriented self, so to speak 😉

Walking barefoot through the warm sand of the #desert before the first coffee, marveling at the sunrise over the dunes 🌅, taking a deep breath and feeling like you’re in the ancient #Orient. Snack on fresh dates from the souk, relax in the shade… and then, all of a sudden: #skiing in the middle of the #heat ⛷️ – how crazy can a human life be? And this is what the program could look like: strolling through warm days, doing nothing – except simply living. In slow motion. And with lots of sunshine in our hearts. 💛

#Dubai – even the name sounds like an important trading center and modernity: luxury and skyscrapers, visiting the historic Al Fahidi district – for me, more history and roots than glitz and glamor, please. Stroll through winding alleyways in the Al Fahidi district, discover traditional wind towers and historic mud houses – feel how Dubai lived before the big boom 🤎🕌 Then visit the Dubai Museum with stories of yesterday or the Museum of the Future?

I have to remember that the markets here are called souks: into the colorful chaos of the souks in Deira! The spice souk literally explodes with colors and smells – saffron, cinnamon, rose petals… 🌶️🌸 Right next door, the gold souk sparkles “as if you were in a treasure from 1001 nights 💛” – says the travel guide. Breathtaking architecture in the Jumeirah Mosque, on the other hand, with a deeply moving atmosphere, or off to the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa (828 m) with the fastest elevators in the world and many other records.

For my professional self – here the 3 most luxury hotels in Dubai:
# Burj Al Arab Jumeirah (7 star icon) – incredibly expensive and luxurious
# Armani Hotel Dubai in the Burj Khalifa – incredibly chic and clean
# One&Only The Palm – incredibly exclusive and prominent

Beautiful, shiny and chic – I’m really excited to see what dreams can become reality there. As a small start i have put together what our house has to offer in terms of oriental flair 🙂

„I am more than ready for spring and I connect all the colours because I enjoy it. But sometimes I need soft and – slow – colours to be able to shine 🙂

I’ve had this vintage necklace for years, and it remains beautiful. Some items never go ‘out of style’. The world known mocassins are from #timberland. The deliciously oversized blazer is vintage. Together with a white shirt and jeans – so classy for mostly any occasion. I’m a fan. The shirt is from #ralphlauren and incredibly soft. By the way, whenever your are in a major city – drop into the Ralph Lauren store – not necessarily to buy something but just to get inspired of their stylish „take me to the Hamptons interior“ – yes always white with a good match of classic colours!
