Even in 5-star hotels, there are guests who arrive in a Ferrari — and then, at check-out, their credit card doesn’t go through. So hey, what shines on the outside isn’t always what it seems. When I post here, I try to share the little things that bring me real joy — the moments I love. And maybe, just maybe, they’ll spark a little everyday inspiration for you, too. Like in every good hotel team, there’s also sadness, insecurity, frustration, disappointment, and challenges behind the scenes.     • A Sunday evening wrapped in the last lavender of the season. A little fĂȘte de rĂ©colte Ă  la française — where the table tells stories not of what’s new, but of what’s cherished: heirloom napkins (a little wrinkled, but lovingly hand-embroidered), favorite plates we’ve had for years @genevievelethu, seashells and lavender scattered juste comme ça. The meal was delicious (Cleo’s look says it all đŸŸ), the wine a perfect match, the first candles flickering — and conversations flowing with laughter. đŸ·đŸ•Żïž Gratitude — Erntedank — is such an old tradition, reminding us to give thanks not only for the harvest, but also for togetherness, memory, and beauty in the everyday.     • For me, this 6th (out of 8) nature ritual is about looking back at the past months and finding balance & harmony for the time ahead. đŸŸ The little reading dog in the picture stands as a symbol of thankfulness — because everything that still grows in the forest and on the meadows now belongs to nature and the animals as they prepare for winter. 🌿 The olive branch represents the harvest of almost-ripe olives — and at the same time symbolizes peace. On the charcoal, I burned a blend from @lab.danum (cocoa shells, tonka bean, fennel, labdanum, nutmeg). Three questions you might want to reflect on during this season: 💭 What am I truly grateful for from these past months — what have I accomplished? 💭 Where in my life do I need more balance and harmony — where do "I choose" to look, and where do "I choose" not to? â˜ŻïžđŸ˜ 💭 For what do I ask protection, blessing, and guidance as I step into the darker half of the year? Personally, this summer was full of fresh energy and many joyful moments — but there were also phases when I reached the edge of my strength. Times that showed me my limits, and where I had to make decisions that not everyone agreed with. With age I’ve learned: it’s important not to please everyone, but to stay true to myself. Without being harsh, without surprising anyone — simply in kindness. Because saying no becomes easier, and somehow softer, the older you get. ⚠ PS: Remember — charcoal incense rituals can be dangerous (fire hazard). If you’re not 100% sure, never do them indoors or out in nature. In that case, incense sticks are a much safer option.     • These past days a nasty virus got me down. Honestly, on days like that you simply don’t have the energy to be around people — even though we had guests and I truly wanted them to enjoy their stay. So I pulled back, gave myself rest, and took little lunchtime naps every day. Today I finally felt like stepping outside with Cleo for a gentle morning walk. Later, I began tidying up corners at home, letting autumn slowly move in. 🍂 Olive tree branches, a beautiful birch limb, and blooming bushes became the main characters of the day. And I have to say — I love my ultra-soft leather jacket from @studioid. 💭 What do you do when your energy is low?     • This week the cold season got me, too. So it was all about slowing down, recharging, and gentle walks. On one of them, I stumbled upon this tiny green acorn – such a little treasure. Do you LOVE my new, naturally beautiful bague (= ring)? Everywhere I go, it feels like decoration time. So many beautiful new finds – and I was especially happy about this green checkered vase. Add a Madeleine in between, a touch of sunset glow

    • Today in the book of life, page 9. It feels just right for the 4 months left this year. Let’s go. “Everything is fine. Just the way it is.” Try this out for yourself this week – don’t just read the words, say them out loud every morning. When I carry this sentence within me, everything feels so much lighter. So many of the questions inside me, the restlessness, the search for change – they all find their answer here. And believe me – at 13, 23, 33, or 43, these words would have been hard for me to accept. But today, at 53, it’s okay – just the way it is. :) Let me know what you think of this petit conseil.
